I would like to have a forum section that is "off topic".
That is off the topic of hamocking.
Eg. reasently I got a job after a while of unemployment.
I wanted to share this with my friends at HF but found that there was no place to let it be known.

Hello! We have an off topic section but you must be a donor. (Donating Members Off-Topic Forum) to get in there

Give me two trees, then I'm happy.
Yes, come join the donating members section. Its good to support the forum where all your friends come together.

Yes, a while back Hammock Forums was getting almost completely filled up with lots of off topic posts, and it was getting very difficult to weed through them and search for hammock related info on the site. In order to put the focus back on the mission of providing the best, most reliable information on the topic of hammocks and hammock related gear, we worked very hard to reorganize the forums to make sure the hammock information was first and foremost and remained free (it is HAMMOCK forums, after all).
As a perk of being a donating member (which is a voluntary donation, and not a subscription) we thought it would be nice to have the ability for our members to also be able to talk about other subjects they are interested in. Thus there are topics unrelated to hammocks being discussed on the donating member side. Hope this helps!

So it's kind of like a fee instead of a tax (how it works in Calif...j/k)?
It is a donation well worth the two or three less cups of Starbucks (a year) as sites like this don't run on air and the mission to keep the main floor of HF uncluttered is a good one. Besides you often get to preview Shug's next video release...if that ain't worth doing without six candy bars in a year, I dunno what is.
( psst-and it's only 10$ or so, turn the sofa over for loose change...you can find enough!)
KM (who is likely coming up for renewal soon..)
For a 10 spot you can rant, rave and if your me....show off!!!
Keeps it pure here.
