Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I was wondering if you could just tie a stopper knot, slip the rope into the marlinspike hitch on the strap and tighten. Would that be a good method? Also, I heard amsteel is slippery. Would it hold a diamond or figure eight knot?

Love this. Grizz is genius. I'm wondering though. Is there some reason you couldn't/shouldn't tie the diamond knot in the dynaglide?

I use the diamond/lanyard knot on my bridge hammock and have had no problems. I actually use said knot on all my soft shackles in amsteel and zing-it. I have never had an issue as long as the knot is tightened prior to finishing off the ends. I like to loop a tree strap in mine and hang the loop off my backyard stand and stand on the strap loading and tightening the knot. then I cut and burn the ends and I'm done. Have yet to have one slip.

having a diamond knot in dynaglide and a dynaglide loop over it is fine. I like having the button be of larger diameter stuff to make the diamond knot a reliable stopper.

    thanks for the interest!
