Sorry for not posting sooner. I just found out that my cat is dead--was poisoned by a neighbor. Sounds trivial, I know, but he was a very special cat and was all I had left to remind me of a very special woman who was killed by a drunk driver a little over a year ago. Oregon is a beautiful state, but I must say, present company excluded, there are certainly a lot of ignorant and hateful people here--at least in Eugene.
Anyway, I had a great time at the hang. I enjoyed meeting everyone in person. And best of all, there wasn't a tent to be found in the entire valley. Laura was so comfortable in her hammock that I had a hard time convincing her to get out of it for any reason except to eat.
The last time I was at Drift Creek, the hike out almost killed me... This time I just stripped off all my layers and powered through it; it felt good to kick that trail's ***.
Let's not wait another year to put together another group hang!
This first pic is from Saturday afternoon while we were sitting around admiring that crotch rocket of a stove Gavin had. It was a stainless steel kelly kettle, and he was a bit concerned about the weight of it as he was hiking out.
The second shot is of my WBBB hanging in the primeval Oregon forest.
thanks for the kind video words.
first time i had the camera in the woods. i'm usually on the other side of the lens.

I really hate that I missed this one. Ugh! Very envious!
We must all learn to live together as brothers--or we will all perish together as fools. MLK
