You must be a canoeist. I also have a CCS tarp (10x10) and love it for BWCA tripping. It seems a bit of overkill for my hammock, though.

i just got a chinook 9.5x12 in the mail (smells funny) and thatll be my tarp till i get the cash up for the superfly. i like the doors!

Hey, I got the same hammock at the same sale. I just put in an order with Warbonnet for the Superfly tarp. I did this for a few reasons.
- First, I went out with the a number of hammock forum members for the First Annual Oregon Hang, and a number of people were saying good things about the Warbonnet quality. They said things like, "Brandon is OCD about quality."
- Secondly, I liked the bigger size and doors as I am in Oregon, and well, it rains a lot. So, i wanted the option to hunker down when the rain gets bad. Also, I figured that a big tarp can do a lot of the things a small tarp can't do (especially with the doors pinned back) but a little tarp can't do what a big tarp can do in terms of coverage.
- I understand the weight penalty and will add a small tarp at some point. But for now, I picked the Superfly as my one and only tarp to get me started. As i test the trap, I will post a review.

I'll second this one. I have the JRB Cat 11'x10' in silnylon. Got a set of Self Tensioning Lines & ridgeline kit (http://www.jacksrbetter.com/STLs.htm) for $28. If you pay for the seam sealer, they'll do the tarp for you too.Originally Posted by Chattooga

I use a MacCat Deluxe with doors added by 2QZQ with my Trek Light double (same size as ENO). Perfect size & doors when I need more privacy or weather protection.

I started with an 8X10 WallyWorld tarp set up rectangularly with the 8' length on the ridge line. Just wasn't enough. Tried the 10x12 WW in blue with the 10' length on the ridge line. Big rainstorm with wind and enough rain got in to cause a damp night's sleep. What did work for me is a 12x12. I went with the Kelty Noah's 12 due to price, durability, and I like a 'porch' to sit under in my camp chair while it rains. It is heavier than other options and doesn't pack down as small as other options. My wallet would not allow the other options. My camping buddy has been using this tarp for over a year with ENO doublenest and has stayed dry during same storm that got me wet.
I've got a Kelty 12 also. Just got back from Yosemite with my Kelty and my Doublenest. It was rough. not really. It is a huge tarp though, so keep thank in mind when you're picking your treesI had to move one night after i set up the hammock because there wasn't enough room.
I'd really love one of those OES tarps, but for $55 I couldn't resist the Kelty.
The WB superfly is huge...should cover anything and keep you dry.
