My first attempt at thread-injecting - Hammock

I've owned a WBBB hammock for two years and am trying to get my girlfriend into hammocking and didn't want to spend $300+ for a decent setup for her so I have been poring over the DIY forums in an effort to find the best suggestions for hammock, tarp, and UQ. Here is my first attempt at making ANYTHING with a thread-injector.

In the 6th picture you can see the adjustable ridgeline I put in using a whoopie.

Very nice. You even finished the edges with grosgrain ribbon. Classy.

In the 3rd pic you can see that there is a double layer. I left a 30" opening to slide a mat or 1" air mattress into it

Nice work. Good to have another DIYer

Just a suggestion...in your 4th photo, you have folded the fabric once and stitched. Fold it twice before you stitch it to form a rolled hem and the raw edge is hidden and protected from fraying. I use this as a finished edge on all sides of my hammocks.

Your FIRST attempt with a thread injector? Very nicely done. Much better than my first project...

I'm sorry (for you) that you've just opened a door that can never be closed. Every fabric store that you pass will now beckon you. You'll be pinching off threads to run outside and burn them just to verify it's nylon or polyester. The ladies at your local sewing club will point and shake their heads as you come in every week... The sweet smell of ozone and sewing machine oil will pervade your dreams, as you feverishly crank out lots and lots of projects. Some will fail, but no matter, you will press on . . . hopelessly controlled by a primal need to inject thread into whatever fabrics you can find...

Yes John. I'm midway through a cat cut tarp and have an UQ coming up after that. Already made a ridgeline organizer for my WBBB. Now I have 20yds of grosgrain on the way so I can use it on my tarp since I'm not good at the double roll stitch yet

Nice job! I usually use zip-ties to whip my hammocks. That works well too. I like it!
