I went to the First Annual Oregon Hang this past weekend and was the winner of a Ticket To The Moon (TTTM) Single Hammock. I have sent a link to this post to the vender, but I wanted to tell you about the prize and offer a few thoughts.
First, TTTM was very generous in their support of the forums members. I think there were five (yep 5!) TTTM hammocks giving out and it was not just the hammock, each prize came with a recreational hammock suspension and a little “Fold Into It’s Own Pocket” Eco-Friendly shopping bag.
The hammock is a nice quality parachute material that reminded me of the ENO material. A few of the other TTTM hammock winners traded out their hammocks on the spot and said they were very comfortable. The hammock I won has a dark blue body with dark pink edges and folds into an attached pocket that is shaped like a hammock / banana, very cute. Here is a link to the hammock on the TTTM Web Page: http://www.ticketothemoon.com/en/ttt...ml?size=single
Also included was the Eco-Friendly shopping bag. I liked this additional price for a number of reasons. It folds to an attached bag and it about the size of a head bug net when folded up, so it is very small and can be kept in a glove box. This is a nice way to avoid using extra plastic bags. But, I also thought this was a nice Ultra Light alternative to bags like the Maxpedition Rollypoly as it serves much the same function but at a fraction of the weight. I have been wanting to get my daughter into the woods, and the vibrant color and cute shaped bag made the hammock perfect for her (I am keeping the bag!). Here is a photo of her testing out the hammock on the porch:
