    Yosemite ?

I will be doing a 5 day backpack trip in Yosemite starting June 14th. Does anyone know if I can hang in Little Yosemite Valley? I guess I should say are there trees to hang from?

    Thanks,
    Brian

You'll have plenty of trees to hang from and since it's Little Yosemite, you'll also have LOTS of people nearby.

    Happy Trails...

And lots of pesky bears. I wish I were going too. What a trip!!!!
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

Luckily we are only going to be staying at Little Yosemite Valley one night. Mule, I heard there were a lot of those pesky bears. Got my Bear cannister ready and my courage up.

    Thanks guys for the info.

The last night I spent in Little Yosemite there was gunfire cracking in the wee hours. The rangers were shooing the bears away with their "special" rounds. Bring ear plugs (or a video camera with lights).

my daughter and i spent the night at little yosemite on our way up half dome, and arrived to find the campground completely full , except for one really nice site at the very back. how lucky!, of course it only took a few minutes to notice the trail and the tree stump completely torn apart by bear claws to realize that we had camped right next to the bears favorite trail to dinner, if we had been hammock camping ,we would have had a lot more options on campsites.
have an awsome trip and make sure you get up halfdome

I was there last August, great trees for hanging. It wasn't as crowded as I assumed it would be, the trees were quiet large so have long tree straps.

MMM, Thanks for the heads up. Gonna pick up some ear plugs.

    Brushybill, WOW!!

EagleJ, Got the long straps ready to go. Thanks

Just found out some possible bad news. We have permits to do Half Dome and they are now saying the cables aren't expected to be put up until the 17th. That would be the day before we finish our trip. We had planned on doing Half Dome on the 15th. Will have to reroute what we were planning to do. Maybe go reverse route.

Keeping our fingers crossed that they are up by the 17th and we can still do it.
