another vote for treehuggers and woopie slings. make the tree huggers from a leanth of webbing, tie to the tree with a sibiran hitch and connect the webbing to the woopie sling with a marline spike hitch (toggle hitch). Its simple , easy to do and vry light weight, every way a winner.
I know you said no metal, but descender rings are SO easy to adjust length of webbing and sag. I found these harder to get just right in the beginning. Using rings allows you to dial in the hang perfectly. Also, the weight of the rings is almost nil.

if weight is of no concern here is how i started hanging before i stumbled across HF. use two 15' sections of webbing, tie a loop in one end and run that around the tree and back through it's self. now comes the difficult to describe part - hopefully you will get the idea. tie a marlin spike hitch in the webbing (backwards, the running end of the webbing being the side to slip through the knot) but pull the loop out [B]ong[B] do this the no both sides then (use this method with stock haab suspension) clip the biner to the loops. adjust the loops to get your preferred hang and tie a slippery half hitch right behind the knot. used this method with climb spec webbing but it stretched alot use poly webbing and you should be good to go.
webbing, toggles and whoopies. This was my 1st and only suspension so I cant comment on any other, but i cant imagine any easier. Made the whoopies myself (with some help from SloBro sticky thread) and was hangin in no time
