    No Slip Rug Pad

I was digging around in my garage and came across a piece of this pad that you place under rugs to prevent slipping. Has anyone tried using this as a pad? I also saw a similar product at BBB.

I don't know about as a pad, but people use pieces of them under pads to keep pads from sliding around on tent floors or in hammocks.

As a pad, I believe they would suffer from the same weaknesses a sleeping bag does. Laying on it would compress the loft (what little there is in one of those) and make it ineffective at combating the cold. There are also little holes in these that would allow air to pass through and carry heat way (convection)

I would think they would be poor pads, but they would help a pad stay in place. Never tried it in a hammock, but have used them in a tent (way back in the old days...)
