Before recently converting to an OES MacCat Deluxe and CRL with Dutch hardware, I did move the HH hooks and stock tarp from the original suspension to the whoopie slings. I placed it on the non-adjusting portion of the sling just above the constrictor which then allowed me to slide it back and forth. It worked but not extremely well. I'll be testing out the CRL this weekend and expect it to be much better than attached to the whoopie slings.
you said it didn't work very well. did the prusik slip on the amsteel? also, what is
CRL?

The prusik slipped if I only wrapped it twice but a third wrap held fine. The issue I had with it was that as I tried to tension the tarp, it would pull the hammock up and take the tension off the adjustment loop of the whoopie. I'm sure that once I added my body weight, everything was fine but I just didn't like how it affected the adjustment.
This video from Tritan1 demonstrates a couple different Continuous Ridgeline configurations. I'll be testing out the Dutch Flyz and Dutch Hook version for the first time this weekend with Tritan1 at Nordhouse Dunes near Ludington, MI.

I too attach tarp to whoopee slings, but do it just to hold tarp in place while hanging hammock so if in rain hammock won't get wet when removing from or inserting in snakeskins. I use about four wraps of Prusik knot and it does not slip.
I have attached my HH asym tarp to the whoopie slings before with good success. Many like the flexibility of having a seperate CRL.
My one note of caution would be to be very careful how and where you are attaching the prussics to the whoopie. Done improperly, a slipping prussic could slip down on the bury attempting to release it.
