Hey now. Welcome aboard. There are a lot of us GA folks here. I live in Kennesaw. We usually hang on the outskirts of amicalola falls... free to hang.

Just of 85 in Lawrenceville here. Doesn't take me long to ride up to the AT and have a little fun.

Would love to. Problem is my vacation time is scarce so I usually can only do a weekender. I did create the thread "Atlanta Hangers" although any once can hang. I started it for the ATL hangers (but as you know, the city of Atlanta covers like a million counties so any GA hanger is welcome.

I am about done for the summer, but once it coolls off a bit, I would love to go the Springer Mtn Shelter and hang a while. we cal all park on the side of the Mtn on...... SR 43 I think it is.

it's only a couple of miles up the Mtn to the shelter and then a few miles down the other side to Blak Gap (I think the name is) shelter on the approach trail.

Or if you go to Amicalola Falls state park, you can drive through the park and into the Chattahoochee National forest and hang anywhere you want. We have found a sweet spot right on a creek with clear water and off the beaten path some what..... it is a saweet spot.

With my work schedule I can pretty much do over-nighters on weekends and also and that would be every-other weekend.... I am saving up my vacation time for something epic out in the mid-west. I am also in the midst of tweaking my gear trying to loose bulk so it can all fit better in my 27l pack.

Let me know when the Atlanta hangers are hanging and maybe I can get out there or if you want to head up this way maybe we can get together. BTW thanks for the info on Amicalola and Springer mountain, that's within an hour from my house.
