    Secret Ninja skis has ARRIVED.

I had another disappointed look in the mailbox when i got home today !
Another day without my secret ninja skis

But since we moved recently, we still get mail to the old address.
That mail is forward to us in a big envelope and guess what was in there ?

A note from the post office, saying i had some secret ninja skis to collect

I went there and found out i could not get them
The sender did everything right, but the Swedish post managed to mix everything up.

So the skis was to be picked by (my first name) (senders Town)
But everything was put right after a couple of phone calls as you see !

125 cm long Secret ninja skis
The integrated climbing skin gives the ski great traction for climbing.
The right balance of running base and skin material makes the ski’s downhill speed manageable and easy to control.
Bridging cross-country skis and snowshoes, the ski combines the maneuverability and ease of use found in snowshoes with the ski’s efficiency of sliding forward rather then lifting and stepping with each stride.

The binding fits every shoe !

Perfect fit in the NOT so Secret Ninja Pulk.

    B/C he got them now

The latest weather forecast says 10 more warm days

I wonder if we will get any coldness down here to test in, before the hang ?

I did a quick second test of my warm clothes setup tonight.
    • RAB The Neutrino Plus Down jacket
    • WM Flight Jacket
    • WM Flight Trousers
    • True North Boots
    • 4 Piece Arctic Mitten Set

    First test
I can report that first test showed they where to warm @ +26 C

    They worked better today @ -1C .
If i didn't move around to much

Common, it is still a 27 C difference between the two tests

PS, i'm a bit bored here, can you tell ?

    Yes, it´s obvious....
    I´m also bored reading it!

No, actually testing and tweaking is at least half of the pleasure in hiking.
The other half is reading maps and planning.....
Hmm, my math says that it´s no fun doing the actual hike?
    Am I mental, or what?
    (Please don´t answer that question.....)

    Nice packing list Moski!

When i had my bag packed and ready last week it weighed in at 19,3 kg.

(Thats including food and 3 L of water)

I had some space issues though, i have a 75 L backpack and i feel
that i need to buy a new one @ 100 L or so for winter adventures
for future use. Dont think i can solve that problem for this trip

I guess i´ll have to start to strap things on the outside...
Like my shovel and extra boots and whatnot ^^

If you are to bring water for drinking during the first day of skiing, put the water in a thermos. Otherwise it will only be a big piece of ice after a while.

We will be camping at a lake and I will drill a hole in the ice so we will get water when we are at camp from the lakes.

I did my military service in Finland (2002) and the last month of my service
we were in the Finnish lapland for 2 weeks so i have learned the lesson
of keeping my waterbottle close to my body so it doesnt freeze. Some of
my friends did not learn this lesson and got "a bit" dehydrated!

(Average temp was about -25 c!, and lots of Northern Light!)
