I know you thought about this Peter,
But people might have a opinion about the fact that we don't have a safe house this time ?

Didn't you mention 10 km to a cabin before ?
How far from the cars are we planning to be ?
Do you know anything about mobile coverage at that area ?

But then again, it's hard to have real adventurers that are idiot safe.
I'm not saying that we should do something foolish or stupid,
but maybe it's alright if we bring a SPOT or a PLB ?
    I can rent a PLB.

What does the people say ?

One really good point if we go for Muddus, is that we can go along with the rest of the planing.
Book fly tickets and so on.

If it's going to be Muddus then i would say that the following things are mission critical:
    1. Skis/snowshoes
    2. Pulk

But then again, that might be the case where ever we go ?
I'm planing to bring skis and a proper pulk on the plane this time.
The only thing i got to get locally is white gas.
I also think we need all the shovels we could bring.
There will be a lot of digging

If Muddus, what are the chances of building a fire? No cabins, and in a national park...we don't want to chop down trees, now do we?

    GOOD POINT !

And i may have to rethink stuff ?
    Have a look.

    Priser (per resväg):
Vid vikt över bagagekvot tas en avgift ut på 30 kr per överviktskilo och enkel resväg
    Pulka 400 kr
    Skidutrustning 350 kr
    Translated by Google
    Prices (per itinerary):
At the weight of baggage allowance is a charge of SEK 30 per kg excess weight and easy route
    Sledge 400 SEK
    Ski equipment 350 SEK
Ticket both ways = 1376 sek (209 usd)
Fee for skis and pulk both ways = 1500 sek (228 usd)
5 kg excess wieght both ways = 300 sek (46 usd)

    Summa = 3 176 Sek (484 usd)

Holy crap, that's half of a ticket to Thailand .

A genius thought just hit me:
I'm gonna check shipping fees and i may send the pulk and skis to Peter in advance ?
What do you say Peter, is Schenker the best option for that ?

    Where is that entrance ?
Why don't we go 70 km and attack from the south ?
I realize that the last 10 km of the road might be tricky ?

Oh really? I work in the post office, but you ask Peter? Oh well...

Neither Schenker nor DHL officially allow packages as long as skis, but perhaps if you call their customer support they can direct you. There's no way to correctly input the measurements on their websites, but maybe they can make an exception for you. Like, they say it's ok if you just book the XXL box and pay for that, even though the measurements are wrong. They have to clear it, though, not us.

Now if you pack the skis and bring it to the post office they can send it off for you. The official max length is 150 cm, but it's usually fine. We just mark it "skrymmande, längre än 1,2 m", and the price would be 335 kr, one way. I've calculated for 150x15x10 cm and 5 kg, but the price should be the same.

The pulk would depend more on weight.
