I noticed recently that there have been quite a few new hangers from So Cal signing up on the forums lately.
I wanted to see if anyone would want to have a hang of sorts to get together and hike local trails?

Define local... Cali is a big place..
I'd love to be in... just time is very limited...

I'm more than in! My hammock should be here in about two weeks. Would be cool to hang with some pros.
We need to get a good consensus on areas to hang based on personal experiences from others. I know of a few places but I want to see everyone's ideas.
Some places I know of are:
West Fork to Bear Creek Trail (San Gabriel)- Tons of trees next to the river
Henninger Flats (Altadena) - LAFD maintained campgrounds with lots of trees and night time views are nice
Hoegee's Campgrounds - Good amount of trees and available water source nearby
Spruce Grove Campgrounds - same as Hoegee's
Big Bear - Triggrhpy held the last HF Hang there last year..I forget the exact campground,
SoCalMike hopefully chimes in also since I believe he has some good spots in mind for a hang.
The campgrounds I've suggested above all require hiking in (except for Big Bear), anywhere from 3 to 5 miles one way.
Here's a video from one of the guys I subscribe to on YT. He just posted a video close to one of the areas I suggested for a hang. I can contact him to get an idea exactly where this was.
