Webbing slippage on DIY ripstop hammock

Hey all. I am new to the forum and wanted to shoot my first question out there. I recently put together a simple 1.9 ripstop hammock with para-cord whipped ends. I wanted the suspension to be simple for my first hammock so I just ordered a length of 1" Polypro webbing with a 6" loop in the end to larks-head around the hammock material and do a Speer 4 wrap to the tree.

The larks-head didn't seem to be very tight (despite my pulling/tightening) during the 1st hang, which led to the knot sliding into the whipping. I've read that the whipping is not supposed to be weight bearing, so I was a little concerned if this was safe.

Is this normal? If not, what do you recommend I do to remedy this?

    Thank you for the help.

When I used webbing, my larkshead was right up against or even partially on my whipping and it never caused a problem. I am about 215, so no lightweight...

I would consider a ring buckle system (link below). It seems like the webbing larkshead would need to be perfectly flat or it would slip. The ring buckle system is also much more adjustable.

showmebluegrass - What is a "Speer 4 wrap"? I've seen the term before but don't know what it is? Thanks.
