A definite pro is that you can get 0.7 oz / sq yd no-see-um, so it cuts down some on the overall weight. Another pro is that no-see-um doesn't fray the way nylon does. Some folks reportedly don't even put rolled edges on their baffle chambers (but I do, compulsively probably). Another pro is easily passage of air between chambers for compression and decompression. Cons--well the 0.7 oz / sq yd no-see-um is a little pricey, if you use mesh to save weight.

I dissected a down underquilt that I made a while back. There was the odd, tiny little piece of down stuck in the no-see-um, but I doubt that much, if any, migrates between the chambers.

FWIW, I don't roll the edges of my baffles. When I took that underquilt apart, all of the seams were fully intact.
