Just starting out in Southern West Virginia

Greetings from Beaver (Yes that is the name), West Virginia.

My wife and I have never used hammocks before and we are excited to start.

Today I purchased a couple of No-See-Um-No-More hammocks by Hammock Bliss. They looked to be a good starter hammocks. I am trying to find some Amsteel locally but not having much luck. Same with nylon for DIY tarps. I live right outside of nowhere and I can't find anything locally.

The site looks like it has a lot of info and I am enjoying looking around. If anyone knows where I can get DIY supplies for a reasonable (cheap) cost, let me know.

Hello and welcome! You can get some amsteel from Arrowhead Equipment. I also have read Redden Marine is a good source.

Hello fellow WV! Great to have you here. You are in a great location to attend Trail Days next year and see all the great hammock gear there. Looks like you're close enough for Mt. Rogers winter hang (even for just a day) and see all things winter hammocky. Lots of diy gear at Mt. Rogers. Consider yourself invited to Dolly Sods hang in Sept as well.
