I dont know how useful this thing is, it was rated 1 out of 5 stars and called a "loser of a belt" so how good could the buckle be if it doesnt even work for a belt?
We've been using real rigger's belts for years in the military. They originally were made by parachute riggers out of parachute harness materials. One can find that hardware pretty easily by googleing: parachute hardware.
I have one of those Bison belts. It's a nice belt. Strictly for looks, though.

Hmm, after taking Buckaroomedic's advice I clicked on the first site I saw and clicked on stainless hardware. I've never seen a cc buckle in real life, but from what I've seen on here it looks very similar to this $1.99 bit of hardware... how much are the buckles usually?

I did the same thing and was surprised at the price. If I remember correctly I paid $6 a piece for my buckle. I guess the only questions would be do they slip and how much are they rated for. At these prices I'm going to find out. I'm tied of savaging suspension parts every time I want to try another hammock.

I have that belt. I think I picked it up a few years back at EMS. It works fine as a belt but the buckle does slip a bit.
Hey Guys,
I'm new to the forum but I thought I would throw in my .02. In my day job I am a cop specializing in Special Operations/SWAT. Be careful what belt you buy. There are basically three catagories: (1) Crap - "style" knock-offs of riggers belts. These usually are cheaply constructed with a plastic buckle. (2) The "operator's" belt. these are the ones we wear when carry a load on our belts. They normally have a plastic liner on the inside and work wonderfullly for what they are designed for. The problem is the plastic lining can dig into the hip and become uncomfortable, especially in an outdoor/hiking atmosphere. (3) the Trainer/Rigger/or CQB belt. These are basically the operator style without the lining. Most are made for "hard use" and wear extremely well and long. My suggestion would be one from a company called "The Wilderness". You can Google there website.
