Guy Wires for WB Edge Tarp

Just tried out my BB for the first time in the back yard and I am now on to putting up the tarp. The Edge has no guy wires so I am looking for some help on how long the should be on the sides and top. Any special set up I need or will a piece of paracord do the job. Thanks

Try to stay away from the paracord if you can - it tends to stretch. Some use it for a tarp ridgeline but even then. You can use zing-it, speer no tangle, mason's line (braided not twisted), dacron kite line, trip tease - there are so many other and far better choices available.

For my Edge tarp I have 2m long reflective lines on both sides, with Theraband tensioners. The lines on the sides can be shorter if you don't pitch the tarp in "porch mode" (e.g. with hiking poles). Strictly speaking, you only need the longer lines on one side of the tarp but that would mean you would have to put it up the "right" way around every time . On the "low" side the lines could be about half that length.

One each end of the ridgeline, I have 3.5m lengths of Zing-It, with TarpFlyz. This is plenty long enough for trees that are up to the maximum distance apart for hanging a WBBB, about 6.5m apart.

I also carry some extra lengths of cord in case I want to tie out the edges to a tree, another tarp, etc.

Don't forget to allow an extra bit of line for the knots or loop where they connect to the loops on the tie-out points.

Thanks everyone. I have some mason line I'll use on the ridge. For the tie outs I have some Bluewater 3mm Niteline. I am assuming limiting stretch is more important on the ridgeline.
