Am I too tall for an Expedition?

    Hi,

I'm just a bit over 6'. I have been looking hard as the HH Expedition for my first camping hammock, but I am worried that it may be too cramped. Is the Explorer significantly roomier?

The explorer is roomier as far as i understand it and the expedition is for 6' and under if I remember so you might be cutting it close. I have the expedition and would choose the explorer if i did it again.

The comfort difference between the Expedition and Explorer is amazing.
+1 on Explorer. Comfort wise it is equal to the WBBB.
And if you get the UL version its lighter than the Expedition

I just purchased and hung my Expedition. I can tell you that I am 5' 10" tall at 175 lbs. The expedition is just right for me but I can see that for anyone taller than myself might not have that same comfort.

+1 going to the explorer for 6' + tall folk!

I'm 6' and find the Expedition ok. I'm with the others in suggesting an Explorer would suit you better.

Would you rather sit in coach or business class? And your hammock isn't a one time flight. By the specs I have 10" of extra living/sleeping/lounging horizontal space - pure luxury. Worth every extra ounce.

At 6'+ I wouldn't even consider an Expedition. This forum is full of people that height (and less) who moved on to bigger hammocks after starting with the Expedition.

Go with an Explorer or Warbonnet Blackbird or another large sized hammock.

Full disclosure: Some people are OK with the smaller size and lighter weight of more compact hammocks but in general bigger = more comfortable.

I have the explorer and have tried to lay in my friend's expedition. At 6'3" I definitely need the bigger hammock.

I agree, I'm 6' and I have the Expedition, it's decent, and I can get a good night's sleep, but I'll be moving to a Blackbird towards the end of this season (recovering from a lot of gear purchases)... Business class vs coach is a good comparison.
