Pre-Dolly Sods Hang "Site Survey Trip" - Jun 25 - 26

There is a group hang tentatively planned for July 30 - 31 at Dolly Sods in WV. Since I can't make it to that hang, I'm heading down there to scout for some good group hang sites next weekend, June 25 & 26. I figured it would be better to start a new thread, so as not to clutter up the other with a separate trip.

My plans are to head out from Canton, OH around midnight on Friday night, and park at Red Creek Campground on FR75 around sunrise. From there, I'm heading in on the Blackbird Knob trail. I'm figuring about 5 miles as the crow flies, but probably more like 7 with some exploring.

Anyone interested in meeting up for an easy overnighter next weekend?

dude, this place is 6 hours away. Little far for an overniter. Dont think im in.
I was thinking 4 hours max. Im still for good for going somewhere just not that far.

No biggie. Since I'm scouting out group hang sites for the July hang, I'll still be heading down there Friday around midnight, arriving at Red Creek Campground Saturday just before sunrise.

Mike, I may be able to meet you up there. I'll have to let you know 100% kinda late though (Thursday/Friday) as I'm extreamly busy with work at the present time.

Cool. Glad to have you! It looks as if Luke may be in after all as well. Were heading down there a little later than planned. Well probably be pulling up at Red Creek Campground around noon.

We will be hanging off of the Blackbird Knob Trail at one of the 3 creek crossings, probably the left fork (the third crossing on the trail). I don't know if we'll be up or downstream yet.

Weather forecast is calling for a slight chance of rain Saturday and Sunday..should keep it nice and cool.

The Blueberries are ripe up there by the way...looks like we'll have fresh fruit to eat
