Tukahoe is only about an hour from us. Many of the staff are scouts from our troop/church. My wife said I joined Scouts and took my son.- George

I just got back from session #1 at Camp Chawanakee at Shaver Lake. The waterfront was shut down for the first few days due to cold water but the week was great! We had 5 scouts in our in camp cooking merit badge program and they were busy the whole week. They learned how to cut up whole chickens to fry, made mozzarella cheese from scratch, pizzas on the grill and a bunch of other fun stuff. I hung a couple of hammocks for the napping merit badge and they were put to use often. Photos will follow.

I hope all who participate in BSA camps this summer have a great time, the youth learn a lot and all are safe.

    Happy trails...

Headed up to Camp Davy Crockett (Whitesburg TN) arriving July 10. Spending the previous 2 nights at Big Creek GSMNP. Hoping to hammock at both places!

Here are a few photos from the in camp cooking merit badge we did. Cutting whole chicken to fry, backpacker's wood stoves, beef stew, mozarella fron scratch, shrimp ramen foil pouches. cobblers and zany entrance at flags... what fun!

Spent Wed-Sat at Seven Ranges in Ohio, slept in my Hennessy. There were two scouts and 3 other scouters that spent the entire week in hammocks.
