Hammock for a man of my carriage

OK, I have been hanging a year and now pretty much hang every day. Started with a Doublenest since I am 6'2 310 lbs, it was a no brainer for an entry level hammock. Now that I am more into it and have my "way" figured out, what are my options for an new hammock that will support my weight.

You other big guys out there know what I am talking about. You go to someones house for a BBQ and sit in a chair and think "man I hope this holds me". Thanks in advance for your help.- George

don't know how much of a diy'er you are but i made mine out of Joann Fabrics ripstop and have had no problems with it so far. go 6'2" and about 255-265lbs. if not i know that the ENO double is a good choice.

I have owned an embarrassing number of hammocks, and I still find the big doubles from ENO, GT, TL, etc to be among the most comfortable. Far be it from me to dissuade you from buying more gear, but.....

It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Warbonnets 1.7 doubles are rated at 400 lbs. I'm 380 lbs and sleep in my BB full time with no problems at all

I'm 6' and nearly 300lbs. and my Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 double layer has shown no sighs of stress and I use it alot. I've had around 400lbs. in it, with me and my 3 kids in it and they are a very lively live load.

I had the same question myself and I eMailed Brandon the Blackbird guy.

He told me that the WBBB 1.7 DL is rated at 400 lbs but he has put up to 1000 lbs in one with no problems. That was good enough for me.

I'm sure that for liability reasons, they have to be rated at 'something' so he took 400 lbs as a good double-safe estimate.

    I am 350 + motorcycle gear.

I have a Speer C that I bought in 2009. IMO, great starting hammock, and Ed was awesome in getting this noob started.

WBBB 1.7 double. I have had no problems. Very little stretch. I went with double rather than triple after talking to Brandon.

Any gravity enhanced people using the switchback double?
