    Woodruff SR

My son's troop is headed to Woodruff SR for camp this year. We have been the last three years in a row.
But this year My son is going to do the Ultimate Zone High Adventure program provided by the camp. So basically you spend the whole week off the Reservation.
I am going with as an observer (That is my story and i am sticking to it)
They call for you to bring a single man tent to backpack with. I am bringing my hammock only and not a tent. I am hoping they don't have us camping in an open field. Has anyone here done the Ultimate zone? Think I will have any problems hanging off Reservation?
I have a ton of other questions as well but this one will make or break me if I can't use my hammock.
    Thx

hahah stick to that story buddy. You'll be juuuuust fine.

I am completely unfamiliar with the place, but is there a way you could map quest it and get the aerial images of the place? Just a suggestion. Have fun, and hopefully they will let ya use the hammock.

I know Woodruff SR like the back of my hand. I have tons of Topo maps, road maps and such of the place to boot.
The problem lies in the Ultimate Zone program does not run on the Scout Reservation. It is run by area program contractors. And the fact that we will be in GA TN and NC during the week. We may not sleep in the same place twice. I have no idea where we will be sleeping. Indoors? 10x12 canvas platforms? in the woods? I am trying to get an idea of all these things. I hope I will have access to power to charge my phone and camera during the week, I may not.

I'm hoping someone here has done it because I hate going into a week long "vacation" with next to "zero" knowledge of logistics. I can pack way lighter if i have some prior knowledge.

Well trip is over. I over packed then repacked an left most of it behind in the car. But if your scout troop is going to Woodruff SR for summer camp....The Ultimate zone is the place to be. That is, if you are in shape.

Here are a few of my hangs during the week.....
