    Double hang?

Has anyone tried this with a double inline hammock hang? It would allow for two people to hang with only one additional pole and 2 additional stakes, in less space than 2 complete independent setups?

Looking at some trapping websites, looks like there are home made earth anchor's being made that are removable. Seems these would be easy to make and very packable.

A google search on "finned super stakes" will lead you to the ground anchor sites

And this "washer" type ancor looks to be the best idea as far as "adjustable" for soil make up.

I am going to see about getting with those folks on buying some and trying them out. I will post what I find but there a video of a dude using them and making them (where I go the idea) and they seem to be workable.

So before I try to pound out a round wheel, has it been invented? I mean, did these ground anchors work in the testing?

Question on pole source. I was searching aluminum poles on Amazon and came across bird house/feeder extender poles. These are 18" x 1.25" diameter with a 3-4" small diameter section to add the next pole. The set comes with 4 poles to mske a 6' pole. Weighing about 1.75 pounds. Price $16-19.

I looked at steel ones in Wild Birds Unlimited. Seemed sturdy enough. But a bit too heavy. Price $8 per section.

Has any one else looked at these? The pack ability factor looks promising.

I was looking at top rail for fence and it is the same type set up. I put three sticks together but I am thinking the "wabble" at the joints will be an issue.

Ok, got some time to play with this idea. Here is how we faired

What I learned: Using two light weight funny trowel poles will work. You have to be precise in where you place pressure on the poles paying attention you have your directional force continuing directly down the pole. You can compensate by using tie outs as shown in the pictures.

My load stakes will work and I will post pictures of my "break down" stakes when I get to my welder sometime next week. But, the wife and I slept fine and thanks again for the idea of "no tree" hanging. It was cool to finally not have to hang crunched up under this camp top.
