I realize they can hold 1500 lbs, but does anyone feel a bit 'less than comfortable' while using because of the physical size of the amsteel??

Nope, I feel very safe with my whoopie slings.
Not at all. I went from 1/8" to 7/64". No worries.
Now Dynaglide, that is really tiny, but still rated for 1000 lbs. I just got some to play with today.

Nope. After using them (7/64) I feel totally comfortable and I'm about 290#.
I know the feeling in general. I made my daughter get into my HH safari the first time I hung it just to make sure it would not tear apart. Now I have an Explorer and just get in. I suspect the same is true of the whoopie sling physical size. Once you trust it... you have no reason not too. My wife hangs from 7/64 amsteel and I have routinely climbed in to check things out. No sweat. No tension.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Thanks y'all for the input!
Must admit that my brain said it will work but my gut was still uneasy the first time. It's just hard to imagine that a lightweight and soft rope can be stronger than a steel cable the same size.
Off topic: What kind of pellet guns do you shoot? It's one of my hobbies but most of airguns have been sorely neglected lately.

Gotcha. Thought for sure you were an air powered dude. Oh well.
