Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

You should seriously consider starting from South of the park and hiking North. I've gone southbound from Pen Mar and you hike to the highest elevation point in MD in the first half of your first day. The Maryland portion of the AT is much easier NoBo. Unless you'd prefer the challenge of course I myself don't mind a challenge now and then but it's always better to know what you're in for!

Thanks for the info. I have all Summer to check out the maps. But your input gives me a good foundation on my thought process of my hike into MAHHA this October.
I believe Sweetbabyd is looking at some maps as we speak!!

Aye, all of summer and some spare change. Either way, I'm leaving to head back to Seattle the 17th, but if I can get off an extra few days from work I'll try to hike in with everyone.

My wife says I got to go, so how do I argue that? Looking forward to seeing everyone.
