I was in the garage looking for hardware for my hammock stand when I spotted my missing roll of whipping twine. Oh the joy I felt that my old friend wasn't gone, but was just hiding.

I'm afraid to say that I'm right at the bottom of the cordaholic foodchain, I am a user, I dont know where to buy in bulk, I just get the processed stuff pushed by you guys. I am a product of your uncontrollable cordaholism; I cant resist whoopies; the subliminal techno-gadgitry of a soft shackle leaves me helpless and I find myself lying in my hammock staring longingly my SRL and continuous tarp line with prussics. All hope is lost.

As a fledgling cordaholic that is not familiar with all of the available crack, er cord, can someone tell me what mule tape is and what it is good for?

    Thanks,

It's strong webbing used to pull cable through conduit. It can be used anywhere webbing can be used.

    This thread is depressing.

I find myself thinking about cordage and knots when I am trying to sleep. I figured it would pass. Now I am worried.

This was not an issue for me before I had a hammock!!
Learning how to tie a couple knots never killed nobody. First ones I ever learned were pretty hard but they've kept my shoes on me for the better part of 45 years.

It's not a problem until your wife finds you curled up with your cordage in the middle of the night in a dark room.

Yeah before I got my first hammock I could tie my shoes and tie 3 fishing knots. Now I find myself not only pondering the perfect knot for the given task, but also which cord is best suited to the task as well. What have I gotten into? Life was so simple.

I actually caught myself teaching my niece a taut line hitch and she doesn't even know how to tie her shoes!!!!

I actually have a couple pieces of cord I keep on the nightstand now to fiddle with when I can't sleep. Sometimes practice tying knots in the dark just to see if I can. It's always nice when wifey wakes up and gives me the "What the &^#% are you doing now?!?" look...

Just reread that paragraph. Lordy, I need help. And some more mule tape, and some shock cord, and some new 550 colors, and...
