Dumb question about tie outs

I have a hammock bliss and I want to add tie outs to the netting and possibly to the hammock itself. I have been searching for some type of adjustable tie outs, like whoopie strings but I can't seem to find any DIY info.
Amsteel or paracord seem to be overkill for tie outs, I was just going to use some small braided nylon cord, but I was really hoping to find some way to make them adjustable. Any ideas?
I'm sure there is something here about that but I think I am suffering from information overload. Didn't sleep well last night because I spent half the night dreaming about trying to sew some straps and the other half dreaming about hanging my hammock from two giant trees. Woke up exhausted!

How do you mean 'adjustable'? Options include shock cord so it would adjust itself, the tuatline hitch which will hold itself but give if the stress is too great, or a whoopie sling type of option out of other material which once set will not give at all unless directly acted on.

And the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.

You can follow the HH model and use shock cord. It works well.

I was thinking of the whoopie string type. But I am open to any type. I am new to this so any advice is appreciated. Which type would you consider the best for this type of application?

Not knowing particulars, seems whoopies made from zing-it might work.

I would go with elastics, that way you dont stress the seems or material to much

Sew on a grosgrain loop on netting or hammock side and use a shock cord material.....less stress on the rig.
Did myself on my stand alone bug-net to get it off of my face.

I agree with the shock cord suggestions. You could use a length of shock cord, tie some small cordage to it and use an adjustable hitch to secure it to the tree or stake. The shock cord provides some give as well as tension and the cordage will give you extra length. A combo of shock cord and regular cord are used on both my Blackbird and Switchback.

A taughtline or adjustable grip hitch would be simpler than a whoopie, and just as effective. As mentioned earlier, however, netting is a delicate thing, and shockcord will keep everything taught and do the giving rather than your netting or hammock
