Double 1.1 or Single 1.7 WBBB?

Here's to all those being helpful. I pulled the trigger on a 1.1 double. Now the wait begins.

I have a 1.0dbl and a 1.1dbl blackbird and a 1.1 single traveler. I much prefer a hammock to be a single layer, the color choices and ptice were motivators in getting my blackbirds as double layers. I really don't notice much different in a single over dbl though. I really want a 1.1 single blackbird next but first will try a 1.7 single travler to compare to my 1.1 single traveler I already have.

His 1.1 seems to have a much "softer hand" and be more silky than the 1.0 and 1.7 fabric. I'd honestly just go for the lightest option that comfortably holds your weight. Plus you already know what a double layer is like so you have that advantage.

I do not own a WBBB (but I dream about one every night and it is on my short wish list). Instead I own a Skeeter Beeter Pro, which is (very) roughly comperable to the 1.7 single. Do you ever hang in warm weather, where you need no UQ? Mosquitos can penetrate the single layer of fabric, but not the two layers on the double.

I want the 1.1 double. It is only about 2-3 oz lighter than my current setup, but it is 6" wider than the SB Pro, and it has the footbox.

Just pulled the trigger on a 1.7 single traveler. Really wanted to check out a single layered hammock and compare the 1.7 dbl in comparison to a 1.7 single (even though one is a WBBB and the other will be a 1.7 single traveler. My next hammock will be a 1.7 single WBBB in hopes of lightening up my pack load.
