    Decisions, decisions.....

Ok, so I need some help. I attempted the DIY method without much luck. The knot failed, which I fixed, but it's still pretty narrow on my shoulders. I'm 6'3" and about 205. Now I've been considering the ENO doublenest for a while, and noticed the Grand Trunk double is a little cheaper. Are they very similar, or is one better than the other?

Also, I noticed the GT ultralight was only $20.00. I know the weight limit isn't an issue, so I was just curious if it would wrap around my shoulders tightly or if it was a more comfortable fit. Along with that, would my height be an issue? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have an ENO DN and can definitely say it's quite comfortable. As far as I can tell from the few times I have handled a GT, it and the ENO are very similar.

As for the GT Ultralight, I have no idea, and I'm quite interested in one myself for a spare, so anyone else with insight into it?

I'm 6'2", 200lbs and have used the GT Ultralight with comfort many nights.

The GT Ultralight (9.5'x4.5x) is a shorter and narrower hammock than the GT (10.5'x6.5') and ENO (9.83'x6.67') doubles. While many consider it to be comfortable, I much prefer a larger hammock.

I weigh 215 + my wife 140. Very comfortable in the ENO Double. You might consider a double layer hammock. They have a flatter lay.

But isn't the GT ultralight very similar in size to the GT and ENO singles? Seems it would be comparably comfortable to those, yet it's so much less expensive, which almost bothers me a little, since I'm a pretty firm believer in you get what you pay for. Makes it seem like it must be lacking something to be so inexpensive. Course I'm no expert.

so i have owned both ENO single and the double as well as the GT ultralight for my ex. in holding both in my hands, the material of the GT is much lighter/thinner feeling. my lil ex couldnt get a good comfy lay in it (as compared to my ENO DN) and she now has a DN.she also couldnt use it as a "full backed chair" like she can with the ENO DN

I couldnt decided between the single and double and did a lot of exchanging at the shop till i was happy. i really think that for the money, the ENO is the better choice and the GT is good for kids or a spare

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm thinking the doublenest may be the best option, but the price of the ultralight made me second guess myself.

Deucalion - Would you say the ultralight wraps around your shoulders tightly? I don't mind if it is more narrow than the double hammocks, just don't want my shoulders to be really compressed.

try hanging the one you have with more 'sag' when you hang it, compared to a 'tighter' set up, this might demonstrate how shoulder squeeze happens...
    just a thought, KM

I'm also thinking about an ENO DN purchase. From what I've been reading, everyone who has one likes it.
