I'm wondering if it would make a nice UL dual layer hammock, provided it'll hold up to wear.
Any of you DIY gurus ever tried it?

From my experience the .75 oz advertised from kite suppliers or sailmakers is really 1.1oz or more. If it really is .75 oz there are a lot of people that would want to know where you are getting it
Thanks for the heads up!
I'll be sure to verify the weight before any purchase and let everyone know if I find the real deal...

Anyone Attempted a Dual Layer w/ .75 Ripstop??? As previously stated, has anybody??
I made a double out of unfinished parachute fabric. The fabric weighed 31g/sq m which converts to 0.9 oz finished.
I'm 220 lbs and it feels surprisingly solid, I would definitley have a go with 0.75 if I found it locally.
Forgive my newbishness, but does doubling the layer double the capacity? is it some fraction? because two layers of .75oz would be 1.5oz. would 1.1oz be just as strong? or at least nearly? or is the idea just for a pad holder.
I can't say that it would double anything, other than protection against flying vampire bugs. The lighter the fabric, the more fragile it is. However, the pad sleeve aspect is another potential plus.
My original thought was a dual layer, bug resistant, pad holding UL hammock would be cool. Provided it wouldn't drop me after a few hangs...
