My 9 yr old and I went camping/fishing last weekend at Lake Russell inthe Chattahoochee Nat'l forest near Mt. Airy, GA. We had a great couple of nights in spite of the noisy neighbors. No luck fishing but we got a lot of comments out our "tent hammocks" like I didn't know they made those things anymore. One guy wanted to know if we stay dry in those things 'cause he just saw a big storm about 1 hour out on his radar. Well five minutes later we were eating supper in the back of the subaru during a nice little thunder storm. But the hammocks stayed dry under the tarps.
My son slept in the HH on the left any I was in my diy rig with top entry attached bug net and harbor freight special tarp opposite. I attached a couple images of my version of whoopie slings and knot shackles.
I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere of this place. It's nice to have easy going discussions and exhange of ideas.
