Carbon fiber arrow shafts as toggles?

I stopped by Dicks after I saw someone mention this as a way to get my hands on some toggles and while they didn't have any aluminum toggles the nice folks there gave be a fistful of carbon fiber bits and pieces. They seem very strong, but are they strong enough and crush proof enough to use as toggles?

Sticks found in the woods weigh exactly 0.0000000 ounces in your pack ... but they are not as sexy

Just make sure the webbing is spread evenly across the carbon toggle. Some of the new carbon arrows are very thin wall and will collapse if the compression is concentrated in a small area.

Stop at any golf proshop and ask them if they have any scrap carbon fiber golf shafts either broken or left over from shaft length fittings. I would think they would give it away as it is just scrap to them.

Yeah, I have little cut pieces of a kid's practice arrow attached to each of my tree huggers just in case. They weigh less than a gram each and they do work but are small. I usually grab a couple of sticks on site and use those, but it is nice to have them just in case

    Sounds like a good find!
