    great thread, by the way...
I used a tent stake for starters, but might use a piece of pcv tubing later. I can put a cord thru it and attach it to my straps so I won't misplace it.

This worked out great in a rainy, foggy, dew filled environment. for the gone in 60 seconds mode I'll have to go back to stock though, or just get another hammock, single layer this time for the gone in 60 seconds model.

Thanks for the pics, Spidennis! Super clear. I was overthinking it. It's a simple marlinspike hitch, if I'm not mistaken. Will try this tomorrow.

So far I have sewn extra pullouts on the hammock itself to pull out material like the HH when I'm not using bugnet. Used 3 times so far and its worked perfect. Check my video's and you can see what I'm talking about.

    WBBB Mods

Got my WBBB 1.1 DBL last week.. hung it in the garage...
Have not done much to it.. pretty darn good as is.
I did add zipper pulls and changed the foot end string of the stuff sack to yellow... left a good hunk of yellow line out so I can see it.
Added a REI Swag bag to the ridge line for storage.
Looking at taking the ring out on the pull out and adding either a small "S" biner or plastic mitten hook. I like the idea of being able to unhook it while in the hammock and throwing the bug net over without going to the stake.
Love the WBBB so far.. much more comfy than my HH.

I replaced the buckles with whoopies.
I use Dutch buckles with 1" straps around the trees.
A small piece of yellow 100 mile and hour tape on the head end whoopie, so I know which end is the head...now I just need to remember the yellow is the head end.
I like the zipper side cord mod...that's my next move.
I use a ridgeline organizer, made by sewing pockets on my stuff sack. Didn't want to ruin the original stuff sack, so made one before sewing the pockets on it.

    Great Idea Shumway!

You could sew the velcro to the hammock near the pull out so the bundle stays where you want it.
I love the velcro idea. It made me think you could somehow attach the tie out directly to the same velcro strip so that there was a breakaway factor to the connection. At our youth camps they often play capture the flag and I tremble every time someone runs by my tieout guylines (I'm not sure if I would be more concerned with impaled chests or a slight tear to my WBBB). Anyway, velcro would protect both the stumbler and my hammock.

I'll make the switch next time I work on my gear.

Got a question (sorry for thread revival, but that's just how I roll): my first hammock had zippers on both sides. Guess I got used to it, I found this to be convenient for two reasons: i) exiting every which way, and ii) you could tie up the bug net. I find that the ridgeline and bugnet get in my way on my WBBB - the only gripe I have with an otherwise überhammock. Am I doing something wrong, or should I try to add a zipper along the right side as well - is that even possible?

And just to highlight one thing I've done to stay on topic: bright yellow string added to the zipper pulls... Will add a clip to the tie-out though, great idea. And the dew-protector pocket as well!
