PS: This is a double-ended stuff sack, not a black bishop bag.
    Pucker,
I love the sack. Do you have a pattern you use?

Not really. Each sack is sized for the hammock inside, but there is a method to it that scales pretty well.
I've found that a 14" circumference is about as small as I like, for stuffing purposes.
I may do a video on how I make it today. If so, I'll post a link here.

Well, I got a video done. It's all one cut, since my computer doesn't like my camera's codec or something. And I'm not interested enough to dig into the world of video editing. So it's 22 minutes of you watching me sew and talk. :-/
I'll add the URL once it's done uploading.

Edit: Here's the video: and here's a photo of the finished product: P1060569.JPG

Thanks for posting this, PF! I really like the clean, straight-forward design.
I have always made my suspensions so that I can unclip them from the hammock if they get wet, so that I can store them in a separate stuff sack from the hammock. Making this out of silnylon eliminates the extra complexity of the removable suspension, making it lighter AND, I don't have to keep track of yet another stuff sack!

This is definitely my next DIY project - THANKS!

No problem, MAD! Glad I could help a hammocking brother out. Here's another picture of the sack, with it's big brother, the car camping bugnetted hammock. After doing the one in the video, I think I'm going to stick to using flat elastic for the cord pockets. It makes it easier to get the cord in, and it's easier to sew too.

I really like this and think I'm going to give it a shot this coming weekend...however; I have a question. Do these work better than snake skins and then into a bag? Can the same principle with this bag be done with tarps? Or Snake skins work better for the tarps? Yea, I know, "newbie" questions suck...but hey, someone has to be the fool, right? Thanks for the video!
