    HillBilly, Ready to hang

    Hello.

    Larry in Kentucky here.
I've camped for years in RVs , Tents, and Pop-up Campers.
I've traveled by motorcycle and carried all of the "Tent" stuff", and it can be a bit of a bundle.

With the purchase of my newest motorcycle, I've began to think about "hanging", with a good hammock and tarp.

I'm considering a Blackbird double bottom with adjustable webbing and a good polyester tarp.

    (I'm 6'4", 260lb)

I think this will be much more manageable on the bike, and open up a new camping experience.

Hey Larry! Welcome to HF from another newbie. I'm from Kentucky originally, too. NC is as close as I've been able to move back home. Can't offer you advice on the gear you're thinking about, since all of mine is DIY and always has been for 40 years. But there's a lot of good info on HF. You'll get great help here and good advice if you ask for it! Enjoy!

    welcome to the madness

I weight 285 and am 6ft 2. I find my BB 1.7 dbl very comfortable. My only complaint is having to get in the AM to answer natures call.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    Hey Larry,
Welcome to the forum. I'm also originally from Kentucky (Corbin) but been in SC for a long time now.
The Blackbird is an excellent choice IMO.
He is your friend, your companion, your defender... he is your dog. You are his life, his leader, and master. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of that devotion.
