    Been Lurking For Years

Been lurking for years so I figured I'd pipe up. I've been hanging for about four years and I refuse to be a ground dweller ever again. Started with a $20 hammock and a Big Agnes pad. Bought an ENO and made a DIY 3 season UQ. Finally graduated up to a Winter Incubator (delivered today). Year round hanging is going to be great.

I've camped/hiked/backpacked for 40 years. I remember when you could still buy a wood framed backpack. They were pretty comfortable but heavy. I used to pack 70 lbs of crap into the woods. Now I get by with 25 lbs or less including food, water and Glenlivet.

Spam and Kielbasa are my favorite trail meals, along with salad, Gouda and some good hard bread.
OK, I admit it. I'm addicted to those freeze dried NASA ice cream sandwiches.

Wood frame pack, brilliant multiple-use (in case you run out of firewood...)

Kielbasa, Gouda and bread are quite gourmet, but SPAM (tasty though it may be) always seems to leave one, hours later, with a feeling of regret for not having spent that extra $1.50 on a snout-and-rectum-free meat product. And, for the record, astronaut icecream is terrible. Try a dipping a Snickers in some hot Tang for the ultimate backwoods treat. And don't forget to brush your teeth after!

Oh, and congratulations on your commitment to hammocking!
