    Hanging from a vehicle

I'm wanting an easy way to let a friend try out some hammocks at his place which has zero trees. He has a deck in the back with 4X4" posts so the corner of the deck should work for one end. I'm thinking I can tie to other the top of my grand cherokee where the side rail on top connects to the main body.

    Thoughts?

I tried hanging from my vehicle last summer, had one end on a tree, the other on the roof rack, popped the roof rack right off.
I've seen some posts where people wrap the webbing around the door and do it that way, would probably be a better idea than the rack. I'm sure if you did a search for attaching to a vehicle, you'd find some good ideas.

Yeah, the rail is probably a little weak, but wrapping around the top of the door seems feasible, anyone else tried it?

Sorry the pic is so big but this was what I did a few weeks ago in a bind when I only had one tree. It worked out great!

I don't have to worry about my 22 year old paint, that's what a real 4WD is for

What if you opened the windows and ran the suspension in, then around the post of the far door, and then back out over the roof of the car? You'd have an awful lot of car there to hang from, and hopefully you'd not bend anything in the process.

Just a thought. I've never tried it, I'll admit.

What's that green thing on the ground in front of the tree?
