Badger Creek Trail

On Tuesday June 28th a buddy and I headed towards Mt Hood and down the Badger Creek trail. We hit the Trail head about 9am and started up the trail.
Did some fishing along the way and by about 5pm made it the 12miles to Badger Lake. After we had been there for a bit a storm rolled in and WOW did it get windy! I have to admit its entertaining to get hit my a hard wind gust in the middle of the night and have the whole hammock move then swing for a bit, then another gust would hit ect.

Well morning came and it was still really windy so we packed out..
All in all is was a great 24 mile over nighter to an area I had never been before.
Very neat trail..

Nice set of photos and trip report. What was the elevation? How were the bugs this time of year (considering the wet year we have had?)?

The lake is listed at 4400-foot elevation (think you gain 3000 ft in the last 9 miles of trail) There is some snow on the peeks you can see but so much sun gets through up there that it was dusty in places, no snow on the ground.

We saw some bugs but nothing bad, no bites or anything.
At the lake there was to much wind, so never saw any there.

In my opinion the best camp-sight is about 6 miles down the trail though.
You could easily hang 10 hammocks or more in it. And fun little trout holes.

Nah the best site for a hang is 6 miles down the trail..
Although its a simple trail, I think a lot pf people cant make a trip like that.
