nothermark, I've got another trip coming up this month. I'll try to document more details on the hammock. Thanks for the interest!
Great trip report. Need to put this on my "destinations" list.
I'm so out of shape ......I passed gas yesterday and pulled a muscle!
Thanks for the trip report. Loved it. Glad to get to see part of your perspective since our first trip got cancelled. Hopefully Ill make it to the island next spring. Im working on convincing my wife that I need to go for at least a week. She seems to think a weekend is enough.

Yeah, a weekend is fine if you want to spend all night driving, take a long boat ride, listen to a long orientation, and then walk about a thousand feet and set up camp, spend one next day exploring, and then reverse the process. No, too much overhead for me for one day of camping.
Over the years I've worked my regular group up to four nights, but even that seems short. We get there on Wednesday, and spend the afternoon hiking across the island to the west side, make camp, have dinner, and go to bed. Thursday they're too worn out from carrying all their kids' gear, so they sit around recuperating. Friday is the one day they might go out and see some things. Saturday we pack up and hike the kids back to the east side, so that Sunday morning we only have about a mile hike to the boat. Otherwise, we'd probably miss it.
So that's the way a Wednesday through Sunday trip typically goes for us. I'll be doing that this month with at least a half a dozen kids between 4 and 14. It makes me appreciate my longer, quieter spring trip!
Very nice report!! I would LOVE to spend 2 weeks on a trip like that. Guess you just have to make it happen.
Enjoyed the pics and that red sunset!!!

Impressive photography! You certainly have an eye for a nice scene!
Looks like a nice place for an extended trip with all the variety it has to offer.
