Webbing

I would like to get some webbing like the stuff that came with my Warbonnet - any ideas as to a source?

I can find webbing - but there is a bunch of different options and I was hoping to avoid buying more than once if possible.

Take your pick. All are great to deal with. The webbing from Arrowhead equipment is pretty much identical to my Warbonnet Webbing.

I guess it depends on if you're looking for tree straps or just bulk webbing, but you'll definitely want polyester for its lack of stretch. Scott at www.diygearsupply.com has great prices on both black and camouflage. He also has loads of other DIY stuff, making him a great one-stop-shop.

I believe there is a difference between the polyester webbing from strapworks and the type used by WB and also sold by AHE. I think the strapworks webbing is heavier. I recently checked some treehuggers that I had left up for a number of months. One was strapworks polyester and the other was the cheap yellow tie-down webbing from Harbor Freight. I have found the cheap stuff easier to use for marlinspike hitches, and it's much lighter. I was surprised to find the heavier polyester webbing had significant wear on one edge - actually torn 1/8" into the strap - while the yellow webbing was not worn. I think the slightly looser weave makes it more flexible and thus less susceptible to abrasion (SWAG alert here). I expect the heavy polyester webbing is stronger, but that extra strength may be unnecessary and subject to faster wear. (Did I mention that "SWAG" stands for "scientific wild-*** guess"?) HYOH.

Not mentioned yet, but local auto parts store or Junkyard for seatbelt webbing.

+1 for Strapworks. It's definitely heavier than what comes with the BB, but not by that much. It's a little stiffer too which makes it a little bothersome sometimes.

But it wears very well in my experience and is priced right.

i use the seat belt webbing from strapworks. a lot lighter then poly. 4.4 oz 12' with loops at end.
