What do some of you consider to be the best length to make the shock cord on the doors, so that they are not too tight, but still cross over to the corner to close properly?

I use the same 8ft lines with sugical tubing tensioners and camlocks that I use for the rest of the tie-outs. That way I can either close the doors, or just make one HUGE tarp if I want to.
i use static line for the doors, only reason i ever used shockcord is because it's kinda needed for the "removable" doors. i think static works better on the sf.
i don't think i'd ever need more than 4' of cord for the doors, not unless i planned on pitching them way off the ground
I use about 18" of shock cord. I find that this is plenty when pitched low. This also works when I have the tarp pitched up high in nice weather - I tuck the doors underneath the tarp and connect each door's cord together with a trail stick toggle to hold them in place. I found that I never need to employ the doors with longer cords when the tarp is pitched high.
I would need to measure mine but I believe they are 2 or 3 feet long.
