    Whipping

I'm just wandering if there is a place that shows all the different styles of whipping the ends of hammocks. I've heard that different companies have different ways.

    thanks

Look here for a standard whip, and the W whip. Then read this for the WB whip method.

Sounds like its time for a POLE!!!

I'd be interested in what people who've tried a few of these end up going with.

Ok, a poll on hammock types/gathering methods?

Let's make sure we have all the options:
    • Bridge
    • Hybrid Bridge/Gathered end
    • WBBB gathered channel
    • Hennessey roll method
    • Whipped gathered end (corners pulled)
    • Whipped gathered end (even across hammock)
    • Whipped gathered end (Jeff's 'W')
    • Speer's overhand knot
    • Crazy Creek's end channel (ENO too?)
    • Sheet Bend/Double Sheet bend

Others? How does Clark/Hammock Planet and others whip their hammocks?

A Knotty? Or is that close enough to a WBBB...

This could either get confusing or very interesting very quickly. So many have used so called "standard" methods and modified them slightly.

Would be interesting to hear about tweaks and reasons for them...

I don't use any whipping on my diy hammock. During my experimenting with the SLS system I was adjusting the distance between the rings and also different folds on the hammock ends so I didn't want anything permanent. My SLS is muletape with hitched rings at 103", 12" muletape loops larkheaded thru rings and larksheaded around the folded ends of the hammock. I use Jeff's W fold on the foot and HC4U's fold at the head. Even though the muletape can be slick, it hasn't slipped yet on the polyester fabric. If it did slip I believe the bunched end hems will keep me off the ground/floor.

Apparently I can't spell in size 5 font.

    Actually, I can't spell period.

Do you think anyone will notice?

The method I show just duplicates the WBBB. No need to add it to the list.
