Big thanks to all that contribute to this site!

Hello all!! I've been lurking here for a while now and I just wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone for the great information I've picked up here. I started hiking a few years back and thanks to all of you, I've been able to cut my pack weight almost in half and am now able to hang my hammock with nothin but rope. No more heavy biners and buckles! Homemade whoopie slings, soft shackles, and tree huggers that weigh less than one biner would have. And I sleep better than I ever did and rarely end up on the ground (only once so far and nothing broke, I'm just clumsy ). I owe this great pleasure and newfound hobby to all those that contribute here and wanted to let you know your efforts are greatly apreciated.

I regret that I dont have much to contribute to this site as the knowledge here far exceeds my own. My expertise lies in the automotive industry so if any of you have any related questions feel free to PM me and I'll do whatever I can to help.

There is one thing I'm still confused about......why are there still people that sleep on the ground?

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.

    Surely, God never did.

Welcome to the forum! You've got plenty to contribute--you already know way more than the ground dwellers around you, so get some of those poor groundlings up in the air by spreading the word . I've frequently heard it said in this forum that none of us us as smart as all of us... we're stronger with more of us. Glad to see you're part of that now.

I look forward to hearing all about your future adventures!
