    Trying to love the blackbird.

I bought a wbbb 1.7 double and its well made and comfortable I just find my self in the foot box in the mornings and the ridge line seems to tight according to the the set up videos. other than that I love it. I sent warbonnet an email, but I thought I would also get opinions here too. I have been slightly lowering the head end slightly each time but haven't had the results I am looking for. Any thoughts on this one issue I am having?

Yeah get the feet up higher, a lot can depend on how far you are from the trees too, I think Brandon explains that a bit on his vids. I find about 6" is just about right for me, others hang differently though.

To get a slacker ridgeline I find I have to get the suspension up higher on the trees, always looking for that magical 30*.

Head end 6" to 8" lower than the foot end.

My most comfortable hang in the BB has been with a VERY tight ridge line. Different than most on here, but it worked for me...

Yeah, I had some issues with calf pressure, and really raising the foot end made it better. Also, to get the ridge line to a better tension, just let out the straps a bit. If you are getting too low to the ground, raise the straps on the tree a bit. Practice makes perfect! Once you find that sweet spot, you should be able to hit it near perfect every time.

I've had to set the foot end (adjustable webbing) shorter and the head end longer. It also needs to be 8 to 10 inches higher on the foot end (the SRL slope is very noticable). YMMV

On the Byer Vario the Structural Ridgeline and overall hammock feel is perfect but outdoors needs some tweaking...guess the trees just are not cooperating like the stand. Run that play until it works is my plan, though it is still pretty darn comfortable as is.

Quick question: does that advice about having the head end 6''-8'' higher than the foot end apply to WBBB's only?

The foot end needs to be higher in all hammocks simply because your torso weighs more than your legs. So, in the "banana" position, your torso is going to push your legs toward the end of the hammock. By raising your feet, you give you legs some mechanical advantage, with the help of gravity, to counteract that force. Then your body should stay put

Wow 6 - 8 inches I have not come close to that yet I will try it tonight. Thanks for the info. I hang my HH about 2-3 inches higher on the head end. I knew I wasn't doing something right just was not sure what.
