Never again will I sleep on the ground

This is it, my first post to end the lurking...

I recently converted to a hanger after hammock camping in the Smoky Mountains last month and waking up feeling like I had a brand new spine! In fact, I just posted up some pics from the trip. Much thanks to Hanging Burrito and Running Feather for all their helpful tips and advice.

Although I live in Florida, I make it up to the mountains as much as work will possibly let me. Currently I am a cardiac charge nurse, a photographer, and a musician. A jack of all trades of sorts, I previously ran my own commercial diving business doing underwater maintenance on boats, hence the "Scuba" bit of my name.

So far I have found this forum to be a great resource as well as friendly community of fellow hammock hangers to boot! Thank you to everyone for all your contributions!

Welcome aboard from Lakeland. Looking forward to meeting the growing number of Florida hangers.

Just a gentle warning about "Ill never sleep on the ground",,,, Yea,,, a "Short nap" In the hammock, especially when hiking, is NEVER a short nap. My last "30 minute nap" lasted 4 hours & while I'll never sleep on the ground very long, I do nap on the ground, just so I can get up in 30 minutes & make miles.

    I'm just sayin

Welcome to HF! Glad to have another one leave the dust!

Welcome GregScuba, glad to have you on board. Like you, I have been a photographer and musician and also had an "in the water" boat maintenance company (on Lake Lanier, GA after returning from living on my boat in Sarasota). Now we are both hangers, as well. Small world.
