Good report Doody, Congrats on your new gear. Sounds like you got a good plan for lightening up the pack too. Enjoy your new WB products!

weighted out everything tonight down to batteries and my 22gm bic lighter and 24 gram spare battery. My base weight is still 14.37 pounds. My ww pad is .8lbs and my sleeping bag is 3.17 pounds (even though it claims a pack weight of 2lbs 15 oz, liars!) So I think the next step is an underquilt and a topquilt. Less weight and WAY less bulk.

OK I had the blackbird out and got some pics.

I put figure9 biners on the tarp corners and have opie's continuous ridge line. Makes the tarp set up quick and painless. I have a pair of skins on the way for the tarp as well so I can furl it on a nice day like today.

    My old setup

This is my setup from this spring. Only made 2 trips with it. Guess its my spare or guest hammock now. Its a Hammock Bliss no-seeum no more with an added adjustable ridge line and a webbing/cinchbuckle suspension under the HH big hex tarp. This actually works quite well but is a bit heavy at 3.64 pounds all in. Its a very comfy hammock and is big enough for 2 people. I learned a a lot about set ups modding this one. It was cheaper for the whole set up then for just my WBBB so its a pretty good bang for the buck minus the fiddle factor.
