    Plastic Hanger

I took one of the wifes fat plastic hangers and cut it up into 3" or so straight sections. I've used it for MSH rods and toggles on a tarp ridge line. A little whittling and some sand paper and wala!

I'm new here & don't know jack about hammocks. But after reading your question I have an idea for you. Most archery shops will give you the cut offs from their carbon arrows. All arrows have to be cut to length, they usually have tons of pieces 2-5 inches long. So it wont cost you anything & will weigh virtually nothing.

    Just an idea.

Perfect timing on this question and all the subsequent answers. Got my tarp in the mail yesterday(:) and am getting on the toggles and figure 9's to set it up, for now, like the Dutch Fly idea. Was wondering the same thing about where to find toggles so thanks all for the advise!

I cut some out of some small pvc pipes and it holds up great.

In Canada, MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) sells tent pole repair sleeves (aluminum) for $1 each.

If you poke through the bin, you can usually find different diameters, meaning you can get two, one that will stack inside another.

Is stacking them necessary? Or is it one of those things for peace of mind? Just curious, thanks.
