    A weekend of first

I dove in and made my first gathered end hammock, nothing special, and I had my sister hem the fabric for me because she has a sewing machine and I don't, made my first whoopie sling, and my first locked brummel. To be honest, making the whoopie and the brummel was a huge rush

I have taken it out twice this weekend and it works like a champ though I am going to have to make some longer whoopies I can see that 4ft'ers are not going to work. Tonight I felt like I done well, I fell asleep in it while reading so it is comfortable enough.

Looks good. Those 4 ft woopies might be ok, looks like you've got fairly long straps.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.

While 4' whoopies are likely long enough I dont blame you for wanting longer ones. They weigh almost nothing and it is nice knowing that you can hang from pretty much any span that you are capable of reaching high enough to hang from. That is my only issue with my 12' whoopies is that I could never get my straps high enough to take full advantage of their length. Congrats on making them though.

Great work mwig50. I foresee a bright future in hammocking.

Hey now..... that hammock looks sick. nicely done. I have 5' whoopies and 6' straps so I can hang anywhere (almost) and make other jealous 'cause they have to find trees closer than I need.

    WELL DONE!!!

Thanks all! I look forward to getting out this fall (hopefully) for some overnight hammocking. So far its just my backyard in the evenings when its only 90ish outside.

I want some camo straps or at least black, but red was all that harbor frieght had at the time.
